Karen C. Rhine, through her Beauty of Wine series, produces pieces that
celebrate wine’s unique ability to add meaning to life’s special occasions.
She considers her work a tribute to the way society has celebrated living since the dawn
of civilization. The series is soon to expand to include landscapes of Italian-inspired wine
country .
She is a graduate, BFA 1992, in Commercial Illustration from Northern Illinois
University, and has been freelancing since 1994. She has illustrated several
children’s books, and has worked in children’s educational publishing for
such clients as McGraw-Hill/Glencoe, Scott Foresman Publishing, and
Harcourt Publishing.
Recent exhibitions include a 2007 group SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book
Writers and Illustrators) showing at the Chesterton Art Center in Indiana and
at the 2008 Dallas Total Home and Gift Market.
Her work has been licensed by the United States Naval Academy, the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and companies specializing in interior décor
and commercial products.
